History

Le Moteur Moderne was founded in 1951 by the engineer Jules Jarry.

In the 1950s, the aviation industry moved towards gas turbine power-plant, and the development of piston engines for aircraft declined.

Jules JARRY
As a result, a team of engineers, led by Jules Jarry, decided to transfer their extensive theoretical and experimental aircraft piston engine knowledge to other engines using this same technology. These applications included land or water transportation, industrial power generation and auxiliary power units.

Since its creation, LMM has always operated with high professional standards and services, and technology transfer, as key working principles.

Developed from state-owned research, LMM provided a renewed vision of applied research based on intellectual and financial independency.
